I am an avid and experienced gardener. I live in Denver and when it is no longer growing season, I used to get depressed….but not any more! I have purchased two of the HidroPony hydroponic growing systems, one for myself and one as a gift. It is INSANE how quickly seeds sprout and grow! Within a couple of days of planting seeds in this system they have sprouted. Lettuces and herbs are crazy fast. This growing system is super easy to use and requires very little care, it is also virtually silent. I will also be using the HidroPony to start seedling plants which will then be transplanted in soil outdoors in the spring. This alone will save me a lot of money since buying starter plants is expensive (between $4-$6 per plant.) PLUS, now I can get a much more diverse variety of seeds to the seedling stage which are unavailable to purchase as seedling plants.I give this system 5+ stars in all categories and will by purchasing another one for myself! You won’t be disappointed if you purchase this product!

This was delivered quickly to the UK, and all I needed to do was add an adapter to the US plug. It’s been a week and I’ve got baby lettuce, basil and tomato plants growing. Very happy.As others have pointed out, the pump isn’t exactly silent. I placed the unit on a sheet of sound-deadening rubber, which has dampened it a bit, but the noise mostly comes from vibration being transferred via the pump’s feet into the stainless steel tank. It may be possible to sit the pump on something which deadens the sound. But it’s not a huge deal – very happy with my purchase.

I had no experience with this way of growing, it is almost therapeutic, the equipment is quite easy to use and works as expected. Something very important for the success of the crop is the quality of the seeds and respecting the quantities when mixing the nutrients. I recommend starting the cultivation stage with the lighting very early in the morning so that it turns off at night following the natural course of the sun, and it will also avoid possible light disturbances from the system inside your house at night.

Now I can grow lettuce year-round. Thought about an outdoor hydroponic system, but would be limited to warm months. I like the system so well that I bought a second one. I never run out of lettuce.
