I was looking for a sound machine to replace using my iPhone at night for sleep. When I saw the great price point and compact size of this Magicteam machine, I was intrigued. It is truly small enough to pack for travel or to not be obtrusive on a bedside table. There seems to be confusion by some purchasers about how this unit is powered. It is, indeed, not battery powered or rechargeable as many had hoped for, but operates by plugging its provided adapter / power converter into a standard 120 volt AC outlet. This is not a major issue with me, as most bedside tables have outlets very close by. Plug it in and it’s ready to go anytime it’s needed. No worries about dead batteries.One issue which has been indicated by some and can be problematic is that of the operating buttons at the bottom of the front of the machine. They are VERY small and directly next to each other, requiring some attention to when turning on or off and adjusting volume or sound selections. I guess this is the “price” paid for the compactness of the machine. The on / off button also doubles as a selector of the timer, which consists of 5 different times, each in one hour increments (up to 5 hours). If you’re not careful, you can easily set a time (each indicated by individual little blue lights) when turning the machine on. The trick in using the on / off function of the multi button is in how long you hold it down. To set a timer, very quickly click and release the button. With each click, a blue light comes on indicating a particular time (3 lights equals 3 hours, for example). If you continue to quickly click until no blue lights are lit, then this indicates continuous operation. To turn off the machine, click and hold the button down until it goes off. If released too quickly, a time could possibly again be set. If done correctly, the machine will remember the last setting you have previously selected. To turn on, do not rapidly click and release the on / off button, but instead hold it down completely for a second. The machine will then begin to play the remembered previous time and sound selections you had set. If you click too quickly when turning on, your previous selection of a time or continuous operation will then be changed. Hope this helps someone!

Unit operates well in terms of volume and controls, but only provides 4-5 useful background noises. Most of the other sounds are not conducive to sleeping (e.g., train whistles, thunderstorms, etc.). Several of the running water, ocean waves, and rain sounds are too variable in sound to make it easy to fall asleep. The high to low sound from these settings should be more moderated to provide a conducive background noise for sleep. The white noise setting is probably the best and good at blocking out some outside disturbances. Just wish that there were better choices for some of the settings (as they did for fan noise settings).

I bought this for potential use at bedtime but ended up liking the Lectrofan EVO better for that purpose.However, I like this device for work. We have the Dohm classic machines set up in the hallway to mask noise coming out of offices and so had been using my own Dohm in my office to block noises coming in.I like the sound quality of this device a lot more than that of the Dohm’s. It works as well as the Dohm at blocking out noise from the hallway and the sound of voices coming through the paper thin walls from the two adjacent offices.It’s also much smaller than the Dohm and doesn’t have any issue with vibration; the Dohm will often have an annoying vibrating noise if not placed on a book or notepad.

Its a small cube, like half the size of a square tissue box. You can just plug it in, and turn it on, it has so many different loops. you just click next, until you find the one you want. There is white noise, rain, birds, outdoor, and so much more.It has two volume buttons, and next button for the sounds, and power.The loudest volume is a lot, so sound should not be an issue.

Only had a few days, but seems to help with my sleep so far. I have moderate to severe hearing loss, only one ear that works, that one ear I wear hearing aid during the day. The sound levels I was worried about with hearing loss, but no more. Works fine for me. Water sounds are very soothing, living in the desert we don’t hear water sounds very often. I am sure I am not hearing the complete range of sound, what I do hear is enough to work for me, sounds are very relaxing. Amazing how this little box does so much, is so very easy to use, even in the dark. I have a bedside lamp with usb port, makes it super easy to supply power.

I’ve been having problems with downstairs neighbors for months: crying, screaming, talking, dog barking, music blaring, etc.I heard a tip to turn the machine upside down, facing the floor. I’ve now been using it non-stop for two weeks, and it’s made such a difference to my peace of mind. For a tiny device, it does a pretty good job of dispersing the sound and blocking out all the “everyday” noises. Unfortunately, these don’t work for low frequencies, but it helps the boom boom boom seem less intrusive.I’m going to order two more so I don’t have to keep moving this one in the direction of the noise. If you’re on the fence, try it!

I adore the various sound! It would be lovely to have it run all night and not turn off after a certain amount of hours. I am unsure if it is supposed to turn off after pressing on or if it’s a malfunction. You can’t have it all but it helps. Considering a secondary one for my 8 month old.

These work so well – they’re really a life-saver. I live in an apartment with basically no soundproofing (I can hear my neighbor clear her throat……..). After buying one of these, I found it to be so effective that I quickly bought another for a different location in my apartment. After two years of many hours of use each day, one just died – the other is still running strong. I’ll buy another to replace the dead one ASAP – 2 years may be a relatively short life, but for how well they work, how little they cost and how easy they are to use, it’s easily worth it.

Exactly what the description saidI ordered this white noise machine and got it the next day. It is a little.power house.It’s small so it fits perfectly on my bed side table, but the volume/sound are big for such a small device.I love that it has five different “colour” noise settings along with other ambient sounds. Lots to choose from!Really easy to use and I like that it remembers my settings from the night before.I would buy it again.

Helps me sleep!!!The ringing in my ears does not stop. This device masks it and helps me sleep. It has many choices of sounds and a timer to it will go off after you sleep. You can also adjust the volume depending on how much you need it to mask.
