This looks like a great idea. But it also looks like one of those gadgets that looks like a great idea that ends up in a drawer with all the other “great ideas” that never get used becasue they are either not so great, or cause as much trouble as they save, or take more trouble to clean than is worth it to use etc…But this strainer actually works as advertised. It fits easily on all of the pots and pans I’ve tried using it on. It actually allows you to strain out the liquid while keeping all of the food in the pot/pan.IN short, it work. It saves you having to clean out an additional full strainer, keeps everything in the original cooking utensil which saves time and cleaning (potentially). It’s small and easy to store versus a full sized colander or strainer. So far, I am enjoying this purchase and highly recommend it. If you like what you see and think it will be useful for you, it probably will be.

This is my go to pasta strainer now! Having this means, I no longer have to put a calendar in my sink and not know what on earth I’m going to be picking up and jumping into a ball along with my pasta because I don’t know how clean the sink ever is when you are draining some thing and that makes me very nervous all the time and now I’m glad I don’t have to worry about it seven year loan. This clamps on safely and securely and you just have to be careful so you don’t lose your food into the sink but other than that it is a wonderful product.

I used this on my instant pot (6qt) inner pot to drain my ground beef for chili today. It worked great! At first, I was afraid that the clips wouldn’t fit on the lip of the inner pot insert, but after I worked with them a little bit, they worked and it drained the grease right into a tin can. Draining ground beef fat is always a nightmare….making sure that I hold it just right to get the grease to go in the can, but not to dump the ground beef into the sink. I’m so glad I took the chance on this thing, because I think it’s going to solve a lot of problems.

Love this! Doesn’t take up a lot of space, light in weight, clips securely to any sized pot while fitting to shape of pot, and decreases amount of pasta coming out pot when straining! Really love that it’s dishwasher safe and gets cleaned well on the top rack!

It’s a wonderful tool in theory, but in use this strainer is a bit difficult. The problem is the clamps that attach the strainer to any pot. They have an appropriately strong clamping action—which is good—but they barely open, making the strainer difficult to attach, which is quite bad. Remember that you’ll be applying the strainer to a hot pot. Yikes!Time will tell how problematic this will be. I’ll update this review as I become more or less proficient with this device.

I think this is a great invention as it reduces the number of utensils needed. I use it mainly for pasta and it works perfectly but I do have to use a little extra “oomph” squeezing the clips to open them, to put the strainer on the pan. I’m in my 70s so it might be my age, though I don’t think of myself as particularly weak ; )

This clips on and off securely, and does an awesome job straining. I don’t lose noodles and it takes up way less space than a whole colander in the sink. Love it!
